NAVSEA#: 7085185-19, 6872813-19, 7325763-13
mil

KITCO Fiber Optics was tasked by NAVSEA Combat Systems in 1992 to produce an oven
that would allow the shipboard installer to accomplish a vertical cure for the MIL-C-83522/16
Light Duty ST Connector, the MIL-T-29504/14/15 Heavy Duty Termini and the COTS FDDI
Connector. A higher curing temperature of 248 degrees Fahrenheit assures a higher glass transition
temperature needed for high vibration and harsh shipboard environments. A special heater block
accepts termini when in one position and when flipped over the same heater block accepts ST, SC
and/or FDDI Connectors. A solid post, a ring and cable clips allow the installer to precisely position
the fiber into the block for a straight, vertical cure. Special side panels are affixed to the oven
housing to hold the 16 termini cure adapters that come with this assembly.

Quik-Temp - 12 Hot Melt 12 Port Oven (High Capacity)
PART#: 0700-9130
com

KITCO’s line of UL listed Quik-Temp fiber optic ovens are designed to cure epoxy or soften pre-loaded adhesive inside a fiber optic connector. Small and lightweight for easy portability, these ovens are perfect for any job site, and are designed with the installer in mind. While many ovens take up to 30 minutes to reach proper curing temperature, Quik-Temp ovens are ready in less than four minutes! The aluminum heater block transfers the precise heat needed to cure most fiber optic epoxies, while keeping the housing cool to ensure a quick cool down. A detachable BME power cord allows for easy storage inside a termination kit. Both the Quik-Temp Epoxy 8-port and the 3M Hot Melt 6-port ovens are also now available with 230VAC power cords designed to accommodate most European power outlets. Made of rugged steel and powder-coat painted for durability, these ovens will last for many years.

Hot Melt Ovens -The Quik-Temp hot melt ovens come with either one or two 6 port heater blocks. These ovens feature exclusive built-in cooling ports. Factory set at 260°C for proper adhesive melting, these ovens are perfect for 3M hot melt connectors and also accept 3M’s hot melt connector holders.

Quik-Temp - 14 Dual-Purpose (Epoxy Hot Melt) 14 Port Oven
PART#: 0700-9150
com

Dual-Purpose Oven - The Quik-Temp Dual-Purpose Oven includes an 8 port epoxy heater block and a 6 port hot melt heater block, each with its own switch and set to its own precise temperature. Finally an installer can use one oven for both epoxy and hot melt applications!
