INTRODUCTION: Delphi’s Harsh Environment Hermaphroditic Fiber Optic Connectors provide consistent optical performance when utilized in the harshest environments.  They are available in 4, 6, and 12 channel configurations for both military and commercial applications.  Military applications include pierside connectivity (ViViD) and tactical field use.

COURSE OVERVIEW: Our 2 day course is designed to meet the requirements of both military and commercial applications.  Our mission is to provide our students with the hands-on knowledge and the ability to successfully terminate and test a hermaphroditic connector.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Anyone who is involved in design, configuration, installation, testing, troubleshooting or fiber optic system maintenance technician, system analyst, design engineers, managers, Information Technology technician, etc.

RECOMMENDED PREREQUISITES: 5 Day Certified Military (Shipboard) Course or 5-Day 38999 Connector Course strongly recommended.

COURSE OUTLINE:

DAY 1: 8 Hour Hands-On Lab

• Demonstration of M29504/14 & 15 (pins & sockets) termination & polishing procedures
• Students terminate & polish a M29504/14 termini pin
• Students terminate & polish a M29504/15 termini socket
• Demonstration of testing procedures for M29504/14 & 15 IAW MIL-STD-2042 6C
• Students test M29504/14 & 15 termini IAW MIL-STD-2042 6C
• Demonstration of Hermaphroditic multi-terminus connector cable preparation & assembly procedures
• Students prepare cable & assemble a Hermaphroditic multi-terminus connector

DAY 2: 8 HOUR HANDS-ON LAB

• Students terminate & polish M29504/14 or 15 termini
• Demonstration of final assembly of Hermaphroditic multi-terminus connector
• Students perform final assembly of Hermaphroditic multi-terminus connector
• Students test hermaphroditic multi-terminus connector IAW MIL-STD-2042 6C
